Which State Gives Most IAS: Every year UPSC exam is organized and lakhs of candidates appear in it. After the results are declared, a handful of candidates are selected who handle the administration of this country. According to the rank, they get many posts/services like IAS, IPS, IFS and IRS. Many times this is not only the rank but also the choice of the candidate. Candidates from all over the country appear in the UPSC exam, but a look at the results of the last several years shows that candidates from some states dominate this exam.
Which state has the highest number of IAS?
The number of candidates from which state tops or from which state produces the maximum number of IAS officers keeps changing every year. However, according to media reports, if we look at the data of last several years, it is found that UP and Bihar remain on top in this list. Maximum toppers are from UP and second from Bihar.

Which state became the topper
If we look at the data till 2021, it comes to light that the maximum number of 717 IAS officers have emerged from UP. Being the most populous state, many candidates pass the examination from here. If we talk about the past, then in the ten years between 1997 and 2006, 1588 IAS were made from Bihar. Between 2007 and 2016, 1664 IAS officers were selected from here.
According to media reports, from 1951 to 2021 i.e. in 70 years, maximum number of IAS have emerged from UP. By 2021 this number remained 717. Bihar was at second place with 452 IAS. Rajasthan stood at third position with 322 candidates. After this come the names of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Delhi, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.
